There are three specific groups of people who do well with retirement coaching: Those planning an early retirement; those seeking a retirement tune-up and those seeking a partial retirement. Each is described below.

Early Retirement Life Planning

Although retirement is often perceived as starting in the mid to late sixties, many individuals are retiring at younger and younger ages. Individuals pursuing early retirement have the opportunity to create lives that serve their needs and interests in new ways. They can maximize their lifestyle options that suit their backgrounds and abilities. If work is a chosen option, the pace and content can be arranged to fit their needs.

Often an individual feels most secure in planning their early retirement life activities in tandem with their financial planner. By doing this, they have the opportunity to design a life from both the personal and the financial point of view. This is particularly crucial for those who will be retiring earlier than the norm. When retiring early, there are special circumstances that need to be recognized. Often there is a need for continued income flow before all of the financial instruments kick in. Or individuals who retire early may simply require schedules and activities that suit their energy level.

Retirement tune-ups

When designing a strength-based retirement plan, it is important to consider personal interests, energy levels, and the need for social contact and involvement. Applying intention and vision to this process can insure satisfaction.

It is not unusual for retirement to bring with it some surprising new realities. For some the surprise is the need for structured activities; for others, it is the increased need for socialization. For still others it is a feeling of loss of identity. At Inspired Retirement, we present you with a unique opportunity to restructure your retirement so that more of your needs are met. Although you may be quite capable of pursuing this restructuring process yourself, it will likely be a smoother transition if you accept some objective professional help.
