At Inspired Retirement we have a number of tools that we can use together to assist in creating a retirement life plan that is right for you. They fall into three main categories: informational interviews, questionnaires and actual planning sessions.

Interactive Interviews
The first sessions are spent gaining information about who you are, what activities you have been engaged in, what new interests you wish to pursue, and how you want to plan for your future. The aim is to gain as much information as possible about your personal preferences. This will help us decide on what to focus our attention, and whether or not valuable information will be gained through the use of surveys and questionnaires.

There are several surveys available that can provide valuable insight into your interests and preferences for retirement. The Retirement Success Profile, which Dr Perilstein gained special qualifications to administer, is considered ‘the state of the art testing instrument’ providing detailed information about your readiness for, and style of, retirement. Other tools include the Enthusiasm Questionnaire, the VIA Signature Strengths Survey, the Approaches to Happiness Questionnaire, the Wellness Inventory, a Gratitude Questionnaire, the Satisfaction with Life Scale, the Purpose in Life Questionnaire, and the Leisure Activities Survey.

Planning Sessions
After we have examined your input and your reactions to the survey materials we can then decide on a retirement life plan that is appropriate for you. This process will vary from person to person. Some may completely overhaul their situations by changing both their home location and daily activities, while others will increase their productivity and satisfaction by making only minor changes to their daily routine. There are no right or wrong decisions. The whole point of retirement planning is to create a life that is uniquely suited to your situation.
